Welcome to Ibstone

Our Parish sits high in the Chilterns in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, edged by bluebell woods. We might be one of the smallest parishes with around 200 residents, but we are certainly one of the most picturesque.

The origins of the village can be traced back to the 8th century and the name derives from Ibba’s Stones, later recorded in the Doomsday book as Hibestanes. There has been a parish church here for over a thousand years.

Now Ibstone is well known as home to the red kites which were re-introduced to England by the neighbouring Wormsley Estate. We have an active village with thriving primary school and successful cricket club. There’s a bus service enabling our children to move on to schools in High Wycombe and Marlow and the 300 year old inn, the Chilterns Fox provides a social centre for village.

Ibstone Parish Council is committed to preserving the heritage of our village but also to preparing it for the future. We meet every second month to discuss our work and we would welcome your input.
